This privacy policy governs how Teachers.is collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the Teachers.is website (the "Site"). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by Teachers.is.

Personal Identification Information

We collect personal identification information from Users when they register on the Site or participate in services, features, or other resources we offer. We always request name and email address during registration. Users may visit the site without providing personal identification information, but to use certain services or features, it is necessary to provide name and email address. We will only collect personal identification information in connection with such registration or service requests, and only if Users voluntarily submit such information.

Non-Personal Identification Information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our site. Non-personal identification information may include browser name, computer type, and technical information about how Users connect to our Site, such as operating system and Internet service providers used, and other similar information. We keep this collection to an absolute minimum, however.

Users may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies or to alert them when cookies are being sent. Note, however, if they do so, some parts of the Site may not function properly.

Teachers.is may collect and use Users' personal information for the following purposes:

  • To improve customer service. Information you provide helps us respond to your requests and support needs more efficiently.
  • To improve our Site. We may use your feedback to improve our products and services.
  • To send emails. We may use your email address to send Users information about updates. It may also be used to respond to inquiries, questions, or other requests. We will strive to keep such mailings to an absolute minimum.

How We Protect Your Information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information, and data stored on our Site.

Sharing Personal Information

We do not sell, share, rent, and will never under any circumstances provide third parties access to Users' personal identification information, except with their explicit, unequivocal consent or if required by law. All data provided by users is maintained with the utmost care and used solely for the purposes described in this privacy policy.

Artificial Intelligence Connections

The website uses artificial intelligence technology from several providers, primarily from OpenAI and Anthropic, to provide teachers with assistance in creating content. In the design of Teachers.is, we ensure that the services we utilize do not collect data from this website to train their artificial intelligence. Data that users enter into Teachers.is is not used in training datasets.

Storage and Deletion of Google Data

Teachers.is collects Google user data only when a user connects to and uses our web service. We follow the following policy regarding storage and deletion of this data:

  1. Storage time limits: We store Google user data for a maximum of 30 days after the last use of the service. After this time, the data is automatically deleted from our systems.

  2. No permanent access permissions: Users must provide consent for access to their Google account each time they use the service. We do not store permanent access permissions and therefore users must approve access each time.

  3. Permissions that users grant:

    • Google Forms permissions (forms.body): This permission allows Teachers.is to create and modify Google Forms quizzes on behalf of the user. This includes being able to create a new quiz, add questions and answer options, and set up automatic grading.
    • Google Drive permissions (drive.file): This permission gives Teachers.is access to files created specifically with the service. This is limited only to files created with Teachers.is and does not provide access to other documents in the user's Google Drive account.

  4. No storage of quizzes: To create Google Forms quizzes, users must log into their Google account and provide temporary access. Quizzes created through the service are saved to the user's Google account, but we do not store copies of them on our systems. Users have full control over their quizzes through their Google account.

  5. Deletion requests: Users may at any time request deletion of all their personal information, including Google connection data, by sending an email to kunnatta@kunnatta.is. We will delete all such data within 7 days of receiving the request.

  6. When access permissions are revoked: If a user revokes Teachers.is's permission to connect to their Google account, we delete all related data within 7 days.

  7. Regular data cleansing: We perform regular data cleansing to ensure that no Google user data is stored longer than necessary according to this policy.

We use Google user data solely for the purpose of providing the requested service in creating Google Forms quizzes and delete them as soon as they have served their purpose.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Teachers.is reserves the right to update this privacy policy at any time. If we make material changes to the policy, we will notify Users of those changes by email or with a visible notice on the Site. The date of the last update will be changed at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to regularly review the privacy policy to stay informed about how we protect their personal information.

By continuing to use the Site after changes have been made, you agree to the updated privacy policy. If you do not agree to the changes, we encourage you to stop using the Site.
